The Royal College of Art is the UK’s only entirely postgraduate institution of art and design, dedicated to teaching, research and knowledge exchange with industry. The Reward and Performance function is responsible for developing and maintaining pay and benefit  frameworks to ensure competitiveness and equity; and the design and implementation of  performance frameworks that encourage retention and reward high performance.

Purpose of Role 

To deliver a programme of strategic projects focussed on reward; using your technical expertise to  advise the College on risks, the best course of action and priorities.  

Reporting to the Deputy Director of HR as the newly created Head of Reward and Performance, through strong and professional thought leadership, you will develop pay, reward, benefits and performance strategy and policy which is aligned with the  College Strategic Plan, which meets the ongoing and future institutional needs in relation to the pay and reward agenda across all schools and departments of the College and all levels, including the  College Executive. 

You will be a highly credible, senior HR professional with significant experience of designing pay structures and approaches to performance review gained in a complex and unionised environment. You will be fully conversant in approaches to job evaluation and demonstrate a strong commitment to fair and inclusive pay and reward practices.
