Applications are invited for a Technical Instructor in Moving Image and Sound.   This is a permanent and part time role – working 28 hours per week at our state-of-the-art facility in Battersea, London.  

The main purpose of the post is to contribute as part of a team in the effective provision and availability of specialist equipment and work areas in order to facilitate academic delivery, student learning, and Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation (RKEI) activities. 

You will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide highly skilled technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to all users, demonstrating equipment and processes as appropriate. Therefore, an excellent user focus and a flexible approach is required.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Area Lead or Technical Coordinator in the day-to-day function of technical services within the area of Moving Image. 

This role would suit someone with knowledge and experience of sound recording in studio & location, sound editing and sound design, or experience of working within a film making environment. 

The ability to use initiative and work as part of a team is a pre-requisite of this role along with excellent organisational, time management, planning and problem-solving skills.
