The Royal College of Art is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Infrastructure Analyst to join our dynamic ICT team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong foundation in ICT Infrastructure Services, a desire to expand their expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support across a diverse range of services. This is an 18 month post based across the 3 sites of The RCA.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Infrastructure Analyst, you will:
- Provide operational support across a wide range of ICT Infrastructure Services, including but not limited to Networking, Compute, Storage, Virtualisation, Cloud Platforms, and Domain Services.
- Own and manage small projects, such as system upgrades or new service implementations.
- Support key college-wide projects as part of our Strategic Plan, contributing to initiatives like the development of new campuses and programmes.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and internal customers to ensure the co-creation of value, working collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes.
- Maintain the security of the ICT Infrastructure by applying regular security updates and responding to security threats.
- Respond to incidents and requests, including major incidents, ensuring alignment with the College's Business Continuity Plan.
- Manage and implement technical changes through the ICT Change Management process.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, contributing to the continuous improvement of services.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, reducing single points of failure, and supporting colleagues.
- Contribute to a culture of exceptional service provision and support.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Varied experience in ICT Infrastructure, including Networking, Compute, Storage, Virtualisation, Cloud Platforms, Servers, and Domain Services.
- Proven experience in owning small projects, including planning, procurement, testing, implementation, and review.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, colleagues, and customers to ensure value creation.
- Operational knowledge of ICT security, including an understanding of current threats and the ability to apply this knowledge to maintain secure services.
- Experience working within an ITIL or service management environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Adaptability and a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with relevant knowledge.
- A current Server or Networking Certification.
