We are looking for an experienced, adaptable, dynamic, highly motivated and outcome-focused person to work with our technical support team at the Royal College of Art on a full-time basis.

You will be supporting students from across all  3 sites in delivery of the services within the resource store for hiring/return of equipment and advice on use of AV/ Media equipment.

The day job as a Technical Assistant in Media and Audio Visual Resources:

  • Provide assistance and advice to students, staff and visitors with routine activities including a loans and equipment supply service to students and staff, running and operating loans desk systems including checking, issuing and storage of a broad range of equipment.
  • Provide assistance and advice to students, staff and visitors including the general use of Media and AV equipment
  • Continual learning as part of a dynamic team.
  • Making sure booked equipment is maintained correctly and checked when issued and returned.
  • Provide advice, guidance on show AV equipment issued from resource store for installation work, shows, pop-up events, seminars, exhibitions

What you will need to have:

  • knowledge of photographic, video and sound recording equipment, understanding of digital projectors, display screens, video and audio playback equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use initiative and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, planning and problem solving skills
  • Excellent user focus and a flexible approach

This is a full time and permanent role, working 35 hours per week at our Battersea, Kensington and White City campus as required.
