We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Post Room Steward to join our busy campus environment.

Job Description:

The Post Room Steward will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective customer-focused mail service, dealing with both internal and external mail. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, capable of communicating well across all levels of the College’s staff and students and committed to maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient, accurate, and confidential postal and goods inwards service to the University.
  • Collect, record, and process consignments/parcels and special delivery post using the ‘In-house’ database/tracking system.
  • Act as the initial point for customer queries received via email or in person at the reception desk.
  • Reconcile unidentified mail and redirect packages when appropriate.
  • Organise and deliver post/goods using trolleys.
  • Act as the nominated delivery point for hazardous material deliveries.
  • Act as a nominated reference point in the event of receipt of suspicious packages/mail and follow set safety procedures.
  • Collect and prepare outgoing mail prior to its collection to meet strict collection times.
  • Operate the franking machine and printer for processing of outgoing mail and re-credit when necessary.
  • Assist in arranging maintenance and servicing of equipment, i.e., franking machines and vehicles.
  • Undertake relevant training courses for Health and Safety requirements, following manual handling guidelines at all times.
  • Comply with all Data Protection rules and procedures.
